Atiku praises Okonjo-Iweala on development as D-G WTO

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has saluted previous Minister of Finance for her rise as the primary female and African Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Abubakar in an articulation endorsed without help from anyone else said Okonjo-Iweala was notable to him and "not exaggeration" when he said that nobody could be more equipped for the work of D-G of WTO than her.

He depicted her as a missionary of streamlined commerce and canny director of individuals and assets, adding that the world would be significantly more prosperous with her new height.

"As the world gets ready to rise out of the worldwide pandemic of COVID19, the planet needs a consistent hand in the driver's seat, to drive worldwide exchange, and modify from the decimation fashioned by the infection.

" We would not need somebody who figures they can pull this off. We would require somebody who has really and sequentially pulled it off previously. What's more, that individual has arisen," he said.

Abubakar said that Africa and Nigeria were pleased with Okonjo-Iweala.

He said his family was brimming with bliss at her triumph, saying "go to Geneva and do right by us, as we probably are aware you will."
