The former goalkeeper will be in Prague to watch England against Czech Republic |
Petr Cech has praised Chelsea’s youngsters for cementing their places in Frank Lampard’s starting XI, though says this is ‘just the start’ and they must keep on applying themselves.
The Blues secured back-to-back wins in the Premier League
prior to the international break – as well as winning away at Lille in
the Champions League – and sit in fifth place in the table.
Lampard has put his faith in a host of academy graduates – three of
whom, Fikayo Tomori, Tammy Abraham and Mason Mount, are in the latest
England squad – though Cech says the hard work doesn’t stop now.

‘In this moment I think everyone is enjoying the moment, but
obviously it all depends on performances,’ the technical and performance
advisor told Chelsea’s website.
‘This
is just the start, the beginning, for them and they have to make sure
they stay consistent and carry on. And then as a club we move forward,
and as a team we play well.
‘I have to say it’s always great when you manage to, as a club, do
something with your own product, because this is always the ultimate
target for everybody.
‘You try to make sure that people go through your programme, you make
them better, and then they actually reach the level where you can put
them in the first team, you don’t have to look elsewhere.’
